Quova Rolls Out Developer Tools at the Business of APIs Conference to Collaborate with Users and Companies on API Development

Mountain View, CA — November 4, 2010 — Quova, Inc., the leading provider of high quality IP Geolocation data, today announced the Quova Developer Portal, a Web portal providing developers free access to the Quova API to instantly build their own Quova-powered applications to the web, desktop and mobile devices. By tapping into the vast world of IP intelligence, developers can integrate data from Quova into web applications to prevent fraud, comply with local regulations, target market messaging and localize content.

Using the Developer Portal, users can pull geographic location and network data for any Internet Protocol (IP) address in the public address space. Quova’s REST API provides a simple RESTful (REST) interface that returns Quova’s data over HTTP. Information returned includes: area code and time zone, longitude and latitude, and MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area), network information, and the postal code, city, state and region of any Internet Protocol (IP) address in the public domain.

The Portal provides documentation and code samples for popular programming languages, such as: PHP, Python, Java, Ruby, Perl and C#. Developers can register directly through Quova, or use an existing Mashery or TypePad account to access the developer portal.

“Geolocation data is critical ingredient for Web applications,” said Jay Webster, chief product officer, Quova, Inc. “Determining the location of site visitors can help developers target their Websites at the appropriate audiences, giving visitors more incentive to return. We’re looking forward to partnering with developers on projects built with the Quova API, as we have most recently with Mobiah on the GeoPosty WordPress application.”

Today, Quova is attending the Business of APIs Conference in San Francisco, CA. The event is bringing together thought leaders to discuss APIs, apps powered by APIs and API centric business models. Hosted by Mashery, featured topics include how to successfully launch an API, developer’s perspectives on APIs, the process of developing an API program and more.
